Germany: Leading market for electromobility – The market launch phase of electromobility has begun.

The EmoStar²K collaborative project led by DIN, DKE (VDE) and NAAutomobil (VDA) is helping to achieve this goal by executing coordinated and suitable measures in standards work on electromobility.

EmoStar²K is guest at international symposiumStandardization and regulation of electric vehicles

At the annual “International Symposium on Electric Vehicle Standards & Regulations” of the China Automotive Technology and Research Centers (CATARC), everything revolves around the standardization and regulation of electric vehicles. The symposium promotes the international exchange of ideas among representatives from industry, the associations and business. EmoStar²K participated in this year’s symposium, the ninth of its sort, held in Dalian, China on 14 and 15 November, where it presented the German Standardization Roadmap Electric Mobility 2020 to the 200 participants from China, Japan, South Korea and the USA and informed about “High power charging” and “Wireless power transfer”.

The German Standardization Roadmap Electric Mobility 2020

The fourth edition of the Standardization Roadmap was developed by the NPE WG 4 (German National Platform Electromobility - WG 4 Regulation, Standardization and Certification) and published at the annual Hannover Fair in April 2017. It provides a comprehensive overview of standards activities on electromobility, with details of work that has been completed along with activities that are ongoing or in the pipeline.

Besides current topics (General requirements, Motor vehicle technology und Charging interface), the present edition also focusses on future areas of activity for standardization:

  • High power charging,
  • Wireless power transfer and
  • Information and communications technology.

The Standardization Roadmap highlights innovative areas, provides information on standardization deliverables and makes clear recommendations. The Standardization Roadmap is useful in all manner of ways; it can be used as a general source of information, for reference, and as a basis for planning.
